Format detection only. An address that looks like an Ethereum address is valid on every EVM chain at once, so the links cover all of them and you pick the network you were actually using. Everything here is worked out in your own browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere, stored, or logged, and there is nothing to sign up for.
And why that catches people out
An Ethereum style address is forty hexadecimal characters after an 0x. That format is not owned by Ethereum. Base, Arbitrum, Polygon, BNB Chain and dozens more use exactly the same one, and your address is identical on all of them.
This is why the tool offers you every EVM explorer rather than guessing. It is also why funds sent on the wrong network appear to vanish: they arrived at your address perfectly, just on a chain your wallet was not looking at. Usually recoverable, occasionally not, always avoidable by checking the network before you send.
Solana, Bitcoin, XRP and Tron each use their own format, so those the tool can identify with confidence.
An explorer shows you what happened. It cannot undo it. Check the network and the first and last six characters of an address before you send, every single time, and send a small test first when the amount matters.
Common questions
Why can it not tell me the exact chain?
Because the address itself does not say. An EVM address is just a number in a format that dozens of chains share. Only the chain you actually transacted on has a record, so open the explorer for the network you were using.
Is my address sent to a server?
No. The detection is pattern matching in your browser and the result is a set of links. Nothing is looked up until you click one, and at that point you are on the explorer’s site, not ours.
It says my hash looks like an address
A Solana transaction signature and a Solana address are both base58, so a short signature can look ambiguous. Try the signature link first.
