Orca Crypto teaches complete beginners how crypto actually works and how to use it safely, from opening your first account to holding your own keys, in plain language and without the hype. We publish free guides and offer one to one sessions. We do not give financial advice and we never take custody of anyone assets.
Why this exists
Crypto education is mostly terrible. It is either written by people trying to sell you a token, or it is technical documentation aimed at developers, or it is a course that costs a thousand dollars and covers what a free article covers better.
Meanwhile the people who most need help are the ones who bought some crypto on an exchange, know they should probably do something else with it, and cannot find a straight answer about what.
That is who this site is for.
How we write
No assumed knowledge
Every term is defined the first time it appears and linked to a full explanation. If we use a word you do not know, that is our mistake.
Risks stated plainly
Every platform page lists what is wrong with it. Every strategy page says how it fails. Education that only covers the upside is marketing.
No price predictions
Nobody can predict prices. Anyone who says otherwise is selling something, and we would rather teach you to evaluate claims than make them.
Corrections welcome
This field moves fast and we get things wrong. Tell us and we fix it, and we would rather be corrected than confident.
How we make money
Two ways, and both are disclosed.
- Referral links. When we link to a platform we use, that link may earn us a commission if you sign up. It costs you nothing extra and sometimes gets you a bonus. It is disclosed on every page where it appears, and it does not change what we write. Our platform reviews list drawbacks as prominently as strengths.
- One to one sessions. Paid live help for people who want someone with them while they set things up. Details on the sessions page.
We do not sell tokens, run a fund, accept payment for coverage, publish sponsored posts or sell links. If that ever changes, it will say so here.
Where we stand
We think the technology is genuinely important and that most of what is built on it is not. We think self custody matters and that it asks more of people than the industry admits. We think most people would be better off buying less and understanding more.
We are not maximalists for any chain, we do not think crypto fixes everything, and we do not think it is all a scam either. Both of those positions are easier to hold than the truth.
