Definition
Making wallets programmable, so accounts can have custom rules.
Traditionally an account is just a key pair with fixed behavior. Account abstraction turns the account into a smart contract, so it can support social recovery, spending limits, session keys and gas paid by someone else.
This is the most promising path to wallets that ordinary people can use without ever seeing a seed phrase.

With account abstraction an app can sponsor your gas, so you never need to hold the native token to get started.
