A non fungible token, a unique onchain record of ownership.
Most tokens are interchangeable. One USDC equals another. An NFT is unique, with its own identifier, which lets it represent a specific item: art, a ticket, a domain, a game asset or a deed.
The image itself usually lives off chain. What is onchain is the record of who owns which identifier, and a pointer to the content.
ENS names are NFTs. So are Uniswap v3 liquidity positions, because each has unique parameters.
