A bot or trader that buys within the first seconds of a launch.
Snipers monitor for new tokens and buy automatically the instant one becomes tradeable, often in the same block. On a bonding curve the earliest buys are the cheapest, so a sniper can be up several times over before a human has finished reading the name.
Some snipers are independent operators running infrastructure. Others are the deployer, buying their own token from a different wallet so their supply looks like organic early demand.
For an ordinary buyer this is the important part: by the time a token is visible to you, the earliest and cheapest supply is already held by somebody whose exit is your entry.
Four wallets acquiring thirty percent of a token within the first block, all funded minutes earlier from the same source.
