Maximalism produces strong communities and sometimes useful skepticism. It also produces enormous blind spots in both directions.
Reading maxis of several different chains is a decent way to find each one's genuine weaknesses.
That maximalism is just enthusiasm. It is a position with money behind it, and a maximalist's assessment of a competing chain is not a neutral one. Useful for the strongest argument in favor of one thing, useless as a survey.
